Traditional Razor Shave in Palma de Mallorca
Hot towels, brush, premium soap and a classic straight razor. A 30-minute ritual no electric razor can match — bringing the shave back to being an experience, not just a service.
What a traditional shave is
The straight-razor shave is the technique barbershops have practised since long before disposable blades existed. What looks like a museum piece is, today, still the closest and cleanest way to shave — provided a professional barber does it.
At Vogel we kept the full ritual. No shortcuts: if you come here, it's because you want the whole experience.
The ritual step by step
- Hot towels — open the pores and soften the hair. The step most electric razors skip and the one that prevents irritation.
- Pre-shave oil — protects the skin and helps the razor glide.
- Brush-applied lather — premium soap whipped with a brush, which lifts the hair evenly before the razor.
- Razor pass — always with the grain first, to minimise irritation. A second cross pass if you want a closer finish.
- Balm and cold towels — close the pores and calm the skin. You leave with rested skin, not raw skin.
Why traditional shave vs disposable razor
- Much closer shave — the straight razor cuts nearer to the skin without pulling.
- Less irritation — the ritual preps the skin first and soothes it after.
- Great for tough beards, sensitive skin, chronic ingrown hairs.
- It's relaxing. Thirty minutes with no phone, no email, nothing.
